FOLKLORE WREATH “PEONY”- SREDETS

The national Strandja – Thracian singing and outplaying fair “Folklore wreath – Peony” aims at continuing the tradition of the Strandja – Thracian region and to stimulate the interest and love to the rich folklore heritage. The fair is held for two days in the city and in the “Bojura” area nearby the town of Sredets, in last Saturday and Sunday in May.

NATIONAL WRESTLING FAIR “PRODAN GARDJEV” – SREDETS

Organizers of this wrestling fair are the Municipality of Sredets and the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation. The fair is held annually on the day of the holiday of the town.

ENYOVDEN IN FAKIYA VILLAGE – SREDETS

According to folk beliefs it is believed that on Midsummer’s Enyovden the various grasses and herbs become more powerful with healing force, which disappears at sunrise. The best time is to pick them early, before sunrise.
