SAND SCULPURES FESTIVAL – BURGAS

The first of its kind Festival of Sand Sculptures in Bulgaria was held in July 2008 in Burgas. On the area of five acres in the “Lake” park in the Marine garden, in early July, all kinds of sand castles, towers, sea creatures, mermaids, pirates and other fabulous creatures were made, some of them high over 8 meters. Special rain – resistant sand of about 2500 tones was used to build all the sculptures.

INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL – BURGAS

The International Folklore Festival has been organized by the Municipality of Burgas under the motto: “Let’s preserve the legacy of our ancestors and pass it to our children”. During the Festival days there are concerts on the stage of the Summer Theatre in Burgas, on open stages, holiday parades, a scientific session on the problems of folklore, an exhibition of traditional souvenirs and demonstrations of traditional crafts.

INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL “ON THE COAST”- BURGAS

The International Theatre Festival “On the coast” is held annually in September. It is a part of the overall festival program in the cultural calendar of the Municipality, along with folk, film and several performing  musical festivals. The festival program includes selected Bulgarian and international performances. The festival is not a competition.
