The geographical location of Burgas region is favorable for the development of marine recreation and tourism. The main tourist season is summer. The temperatures of the air and water, the large number of sunny days and the low rainfall allow outdoor recreation in four months – from June to September.

There are thermal mineral springs in the region with different temperatures and chemical composition, which is important for the balneological and sea tourism.

The vegetation as a natural resource creates a specific health zone and microclimate on the recreational territory, making it an object of rural and educational tourism, especially in the forests along the rivers Ropotamo and Veleka and the natural reserves. Forests in Strandzha Mountain and Sakar Mountain create favorable conditions for hunting tourism.
